This extremely unique South African-fusion restaurant in Buckhead, 10 Degrees South, went from a small bungalow to a contemporary hot spot within a few years of its 1998 opening. The interior evolved to hard wood floors, earth tones, a fireplace, indigenous tapestries and high ceilings with windows to
match. Mediterranean-influenced décor mirrors the cuisine, which is infused with flavors from Portugal, Malaysia, France, Germany and Holland, all of
which are a part of authentic South African cuisine. Starters include bobotie spring rolls, filled with sweet ground beef curry and chutney; peri-peri
chicken spring rolls; boerewors, which are lean beef sausages with either tomato or onion sauce for dipping; and chicken livers. Favorite entrées include
prawns, lamb chops over mashed potatoes, rump steak, rack of lamb, filet mignon and ostrich medallions, among other South African delicacies. For dessert, try the buttery DianeDelight, a sponge cake served with ice cream. Full bar. Reservations suggested.
